Did you know where places you could often photograph decent foot traffic like a small town in Port Orchard or Bremerton? In a town like this - go out and visit yourself by walking or bicycling to a little league match near you! "Street photography" on Bainbridge Island can be challenging given the nature of residents and foot traffic, if you are not at Winslow by the ferry terminal. All by using the mediums you really have. Downtown parades are also another opportunity for street photographers and photojournalists to photograph within your town. A geographical fact along Sidney Road: Fernwood is a lesser-known settlement in Port Orchard with Sidney Road going north and south towards Purdy in Pierce County. Fernwood in recent years has been mostly empty lots, but residential and commercial developments will be erected at Sedgwick Road and Ruby Creek within a decade.

Little Leagues are traditionally held across towns, cities, and states in spring. The season lasts from March to mid-June. By the time when kids from school are going for summer vacation. I decided to walk on Sidney Road from my apartment to a baseball field across from the elementary school. Sidney Glen Elementary School. The league that I ended up covering is the South Kitsap Western Little League (SKWLL). On a bus ride home and looking out on the picture window were people of families and little children out on the field across the elementary school. I knew this was a local Little League. Of course, I was not able to plan an immediate trip and have just a little bit of reservations. A while after, I then decided to pick up my camera and just "steal" a couple of images of the softball field across an elementary school.

I was nervous and my presence could be taken the wrong way by other people the first time I stepped on the field or anywhere else. So far people don't seem to be bothered with my presence in area Sidney.

I will swing by a local Little League near my residence when the season comes in the middle of spring! Composing and making some images of the action played by the Little Leaguers. Do you know the reason why I want to photograph a local Little League? It's not what you think!

I want to document fights from adults. Because this is a FREE country and thought it is America! Quoted the words from Randy Marsh from South Park.

Some images are provided below at the time of writing. These are photographed on the playoffs season in late May/early June 2024
